Venice 2020, Cate Blanchett president of the jury: “It’s a privilege”

The two-time Oscar winner will lead the jury that will award the Golden Lion
Australian actress and producer Cate Blanchett will chair the International Jury of the Competition of the 77th Venice Biennale International Film Festival (2 – 12 September 2020), which will award the Golden Lion for best film and other official awards. In 2018 she was president of the jury at the Cannes film festival.
Cate Blanchett – President (Australia), internationally acclaimed and award-winning actress, producer, philanthropist and active player in the arts community. Her numerous, extraordinary film performances have earned her two Oscars (The Aviator, 2004, and Blue Jasmine, 2013), three Golden Globes (Elizabeth, 1998, I’m not here, 2007, Blue Jasmine, 2013), three Bafta awards and numerous other nominations. At the Venice Film Festival she starred in Shekhar Kapur’s Elizabeth (1998) and Todd Haynes’s Io sono non qui (2007), which earned her the Coppa Volpi as best actress.
