The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh real-life romance. The royal couple, who married at Westminster Abbey in 1947, celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary on 20 November. In a new portrait released by Buckingham Palace to mark the occasion, the Queen wears a pale blue double wool crepe dress by royal couturier Stewart Parvin, offset by the Chrysanthemum Brooch, the spectacular sapphire and diamond piece she wore on the couple’s honeymoon at Broadlands in Hampshire more than seven decades ago.
