Lewis Hamilton positive for coronavirus: he will not race in Bahrain.

Mercedes world champion positive result at Covid-19: the announcement in a press release from the German team. He is in solitary confinement and will miss Sunday’s race in Bahrain

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes world champion, tested positive for Covid-19: the announcement in a statement from the German team. The English rider, who is in isolation, will therefore not be able to participate in the penultimate round of the World Championship scheduled for this weekend in Bahrain. This is the second consecutive race on the Sakhir track after the one that Hamilton himself won last Sunday. At the moment no communication from the pilot on his condition.

The test and the name of the substitute

The test that revealed Hamilton’s positivity was carried out right after the Bahrain Grand Prix and, as usual, in view of the next round of the championship. Last week the world champion had undergone three tests, all negative. On Monday he began to experience some symptoms, then underwent a double test on Tuesday with positive results in both cases.
