Oscar 2021 Pinocchio by matteo Garrone wins two nominations

Pinocchio, Matteo Garrone’s 2019 film, won two nominations at the 2021 Oscars, for costumes and make-up, respectively by Massimo Cantini Parrini and the team composed of Dalia Colli, Anna Kieber, Sebastian Lochmann and Stephen Murphy. These are two of the three Italian nominations this year, together with that of Laura Pausini in the category of the original song.
A good result for Garrone’s film, released in the United States last December 25, and a nice redemption for the work of Carlo Collodi after the unfortunate episode of 2003, when the adaptation directed and starring Roberto Benigni (who in the feature film as Geppetto)
Dalia Colli nominated for “Pinocchio” in the Best Makeup category The make-up artist, who has already won three David di Donatello’s in her career, will compete for the prestigious statuette together with Mark Coulier and Francesco Pegoretti Pinocchio by Garrone in a fantastic animal and monstrous world: a film of a more austere and icy hardness than Collodi
