Dior Fall-Winter 2021 Shanghai Show

Dior Fall-Winter 2021 Shanghai Show

For Maria Grazia Chiuri, unveiling the Fall 2021 collection in Shanghai *, at the Long Museum West Bund, is an extraordinary opportunity to infuse her pieces with a moving visual force, a new energy. A celebration of the Maison’s creativity and the power of world cultures, as Dior joins, as a guest of honor, like a tribute, the official agenda of Shanghai Fashion Week.

The silhouettes reinterpret the Dior vocabulary with a transversal pop aesthetic: from the English pop of Richard Hamilton ** to the rather acid New Futurism of Marco Lodola. The leopard-print coat revisits this essential, created by Monsieur Dior. The speckled effect radiates in a range of dazzling colors; silver embroidery adorns the pink tulle. The toile de Jouy turns into lace; black is absolute black. The checks are available in navy, gray, raspberry and chartreuse. The Mille Fleurs de Dior motif in black silk velvet can be transformed according to the fabric. The embroidery is sublimated with giant sequins, like mirror discs, reminiscent of the mirror balls that illuminate the decor of the parade and dress in particular four new dresses. Maria Grazia Chiuri stages a phantasmagoria of materials and cuts including icons, like the Bar jacket. A series of five other exclusive models, alternately adorned with fluorescent shades, red – “the color of life” in the words of Monsieur Dior – or taking up the House’s archives, also enriches the collection. All of these creations, presented to the rhythm of a musical composition by Giorgio Moroder – punctuated by the voice of Maripol -, are designed to face the current era, with that deep lightness specific to the pop spirit, at the same time. extremely intense and sophisticated.
