The Cannes Film Festival has postponed the press conference for a week, until June 3, according to Variety. The reason for the move would be “the quantity of films sent for selection”. The official selection and in particular the competition will be wider than usual.

Towards the Croisette also Sean Penn’s drama Flag Fly in which the actor is a father with a double life as a swindler and bank robber. In the cast of him her daughter Dylan and his son Hopper along with Josh Brolin and Miles Teller. There should be Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, set in Montana, the story of two brothers against each other, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Kristen Dunst and the Paul Schrader thriller The Card Counter with Oscar Isaac and Willem Dafoe, First Reformed sequel starring Isaac, gamer with a Spartan lifestyle, distraught after being approached by a young man who seeks help to take revenge on a military colonel. Both The Power of The Dog and The Card Counter, again according to Variety, are waiting to understand if the Festival can take place in July, otherwise they would be willing to divert to Venice. Official Competition, a comedy starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz directed by the Argentine duo Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, could be a top title either from the Croisette or from the Lido.
