Maneskin have won the Eurovision Song Contest
With the song “Zitti e Buoni”: Italy hadn’t won for 31 years
The Italian group Måneskin won the 2021 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest – ESC, the largest music competition in the world – with the song Zitti e Buoni. The Måneskin won by obtaining 524 points, of which 318 received from televoting, decisive to overtake the French Barbara Pravi, who finished second with the song Voilà and 499 points, and the Swiss Gjon’s Tears, who finished third with the song Tout l’ivers and 432 points.
The Måneskin are formed by Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio. They became quite popular after participating in X Factor in 2017: they came second, but still got a contract with Sony Music. The following year the group released their first album (Måneskin), while in 2019 Il ballo della vita was released, an album that was a great success especially thanks to the singles Torna a casa e Morirò da re. In March, the Måneskin had won the Sanremo Festival, a victory that guaranteed them participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Courtesy Photo Eurovision Press Office
